SERDANG, 14 Sept- Universiti Putra Malaysia(UPM) had successfully recorded the participation of the most accomplished Zafina fitness dance and had been able to place UPM’s name in the 'Malaysia Book Of Records' (MBOR) with a total attendance of 6,278 participants. The fitness dancers were all from the students and staffs of UPM and also the residents around the campus. Students from Tenth College also joined this activity with the participation of more than 600 students comprised of first and second semester students. Zafina Dance is a Zapin dance based aerobics exercise.
In addition, there were other activities held specifically for children such as coloring games. The dance activity was supposed to take place at the UPM Main Field (Padang Besar) but due to the haze, the organizers had taken the initiative to convert the venue to the UPM Hall (Dewan Besar).
This activity was organized by the Student Affairs and Alumni Division (HEPA) in collaboration with the UPM Student Curriculum and Development Center and the Zumba fitness group in conjunction with UPM Curriculum Day. UPM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (HEPA), Professor Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman also hoped that such a program would become an annual activity. The event started at 8am and ended at 12 noon.
